David will always be remembered by family and friends for his unbridled enthusiasm, his winning smile and, of course, his love for the game of golf.  He had a glimmer that touched all who knew him and his memory lives on within our hearts.

David, the son of Jim and Johnetta Bruna, was raised in the Virden area.  He attended Virden High School, and went on to earn degrees at Southwest Missouri State and University of Illinois, Springfield.  After serving in the U.S. Army, David returned to central Illinois where he began his academic career at Divernon High School. He would later go on to become principal at Virden High School.

David was very respected and admired by his fellow educators.  He was a great mentor, coach, and counselor to countless numbers of students, athletes, and faculty members whose lives he touched throughout the years.

David's immense impact on the school and community where he spent so much of his life can still be seen today.  For those of us who knew him, we are fortunate.  For those of us who called him "friend", we are honored.

David is survived by his sister, Karen Musso, wife Marcia, two daughters Jennifer and Jill, and his four beloved grandchildren.
